Hi,Outofafrica, Sorry for late reply. I am on leave till March. 1.Could I still catch up with the application deadline of Sep 2007 enrollment of LBS? You can get the deadline for Sept 07 MIFFT application from LBS website. 2.Do you know about some employment information of LBS MIF graduates, especially of those graduates from China mainland ? Search LBS in this forum and you will see the list of 2005 Chinese MIFs employment in one of the posts. 3.I know there are similar program of master in finance in LSE,Oxford,Cambridge,Hass B-school of Berkeley and Bendheim Center for Finance in Princeton etc. Do you know the main difference among them? As far as I know: LBS is more professional while LSE is more academic.LBS requires at least two years' work experience while LSE require no work experience for its Masters of Accounting and Finance, if I am not wrong. Oxford and Cambridge require high GPAs and other high scores but do not seem to have a good reputation in professional training in MBA/MIF as LBS,maybe I am wrong, though the two universities enjoy very good overall reputation worldwide. If you compare the graduate placement statistics of Oxford MFE and LBS MIF published on their websites, you can see roughly that the standard deviation of the salary of Oxford MFEs is bigger than LBS MIFs. I think UC Berkeley is on about the same level as LBS. Your choice will depend the specific requirement of each school and plan after graduation. US or UK? For example, LBS may accept GMAT scores five years older but Berkeley may not. Princeton is the BEST. My sense is that Princeton requires a strong mathematics background. If you have high enough GPA,GMAT,TOEFL, give a try! I think you have strong background. However, the key is your essay: how you sell yourself. LBS is a very good top B-school in the world especially for its finance program. When comparing with USA similar B-schools, I only care about the employment status of its graduates because UK is a non-immigrant country with many restraints for foreign employees. Thanks a lot. Welcome. |
