2. be able to do 和be capable of doing有意思上大致相当但是有点的细微差别。

两者都表示能做某事，但是able表示一种并不令人感到惊讶的能力，比如she is able to swim in the river.而capabel of doing表示一种潜在的可能存在的，做某些事所必须的能力。比如LONGMAN上的例句：

The company isn't capable of handling an order that large.

I'm perfectly capable of looking after myself, thank you!

4.对于C里的depend on... and on....感觉还是必要的，因为有it's的存在，如果第二个on不加上，会出现歧义且不合乎逻辑：“树的气候”。所以有必要使用介词短语并列，来表示两种不同的原因。
