OG11语法第680页第45题的解释D，说“The recession must be followed by that”，难道这里的that不是定语从句吗？看来定语从句的that不能省略？原句是：... confidence in the economy to avoid the recession many were fearing earlier in the year, ....
可是，第685页第54题的选项E“to establish tighter restrictions on the amount of grain farmers will be allowed to grow”在grain和farmers之间肯定是省略了that啊，这说明定语从句的that还是可以省略的啊
