请教, C的appear改成完成时是不是就对了?我不觉得它重心转移,还是在说vanish啊,请指正

选E 调整一下顺序。其实是这样的

B中that appeared时态有误，所有5 hundred million都是曾经出现，现在都没有了。原文意思是毕竟还有幸存的，因此用现在完成时更好，意思为5 hundred million“出现过的”

five hundred million之前增加了the, 在这里表示特指，是不是后面有that定语从句修饰，所有前面才要加上定冠词呢？

时态也奇怪,我当时把have appear的都排除了.
后面have vanished到是可以,可以理解为到现在已经消失了.

1. 时态问题
现在完成时，用于表示某事发生在过去、并且状态延续至今，所以have vanished是说得通的，即物种在过去某个时点灭绝了并且这个灭绝的状态延续至今；

但appear不同，appear表示“发生、出现”的时候，是典型的瞬间动词，在某个时点发生了就是发生了，不存在状态延续吧。

2. 特指/泛指问题
个人觉得在这道题中，这不是个问题。地球上出现过的物种就那么500万种，没有更多的其他物种了，不管是特指还是泛指，指代对象没有区别的说。

3. Rhetorical Construction
我是一上来就把D、E排除了的，99% of five hundred million different species这是一个整体，D、E选项把这个整体拆开后，让99%隔那么老远修饰句首的of five hundred million different species，这样的问题貌似OG中有打击取缔过哦^o^

窃以为：
该题考点在于that have appeared on earth 从句到底修饰living creatures还是different species. 哪个加 the 就是修饰哪个，只有E中 species 前加 the 所以选E，
至于为什么要修饰species我也没整明白，可能只有老外能体会出，但感觉题意是要修饰species

这道题有OG12  SC131的影子，各位CDERs可以参照着体会一下

刚刚做到这题，自己选B但是不能确定，现在反复看看觉得还是E更好。第一因为用the修饰species,第二B里面的appeared说不通，确实是还有1%的物种至今仍然存在，不能全部用过去式

PROBLEM: It should be "THE five hundred million different species," otherwise it sounds like there have been more than five hundred million species, but we're just talking about a particular subset of them which happens to include five hundred million species. Also, the use of the simple past tense for "appeared" is wrong, because this should be present perfect (they have appeared starting in the past and CONTINUING into the present).
