请问关于than比较结构中 do的用法

看了几个前辈NN关于比较结构中动词补出的解释,感觉受益良多

可是看到一些具体例子时又发现解释不好了,希望NN们多多指导

所以再弱弱问一下~~

eg1:The pay of senior executives increased in 1990 by a larger percentage than did
            the wages of other salaried workers

这里应该是主语的比较,比较对象应该是the pay 和the wages，想请问did为什么不放在句末而要放在than的后面?

再看主句中无宾语，如果按某ＮＮ所说的主句无宾语时可省略补出动词，那么可以改成than that of other salaried workers

的形式吗？

如果上述选项改为　for accused persons than the legal system of any other county does 是否正确呢？

这里的does为什么放在比较的主语前啊，怎么都想不明白这是什么用法，盼指教～～万分感谢

又查了几个贴子，这样是倒装的用法，那不知如果把does放在句末是不是也是正确的？
