A: strong parallel structure - very likely to be the answer. the pronoun here is ambiguous but yet not necessarily incorrect.

E: "moving" and "becoming" indicate something that's going on right now - this should be in the past. "after K's becoming...." is horribly awkward. And since D has a better expression "after K became..." It is very unlikely that E with such an inferior expression would be the correct answer.
