4. whereas just over 33 percent of the energy comes from nuclear power in Germany ["the energy" refers to the energy produced in France? ]

5. compared with the energy from nuclear power in Germany, where it is just over 33 percent ["it" refers to what? the energy produced in France? ]

Therefore, I choose C, even though the GWD answer is D. Open to discuss.

whereas和while差不多意思,如果有比较意思在,是不是whereas后面也该跟 the energy而不是nuclear power呢?

C的nuclear power是具体名词，和前面未环线部分不一致。

it是特指，应该指代名词以及修饰名词的成分。所以A中it 应该指代the energy produced in France。

这个解释的很好 ！ 不过我还是想问问，E中的it应该指代的是the energy from nuclear power in Germany.  不是很懂~~~求赐教

我到觉得这里的it作为主语应该指的是“over 75 percent of energy produced in France.”但是逻辑不正确，因此降格指代宾语nuclear power。但逻辑还是不对，这里真正it指代的应该从逻辑上说是energy produced，但是由于energy produced被限制了，所以就导致It 无正确指代。。。
对于E选项不懂，it为什么不是对the energy from nuclear power in Germany的指代？？？？
