A的主要错误我觉得不仅仅是平行的问题，而是限定性修饰从句patients eat少了代词that。

the foods patients eat but also by time when the foods are eaten

C的错误不光是被动语态不如主动语态，更严重的是time when the foods are eaten根本未提及patients，产生了歧义，即只和食物被吃掉的时间有关，而无所谓是不是patients吃掉的。
