想进投行的, 还是不要申请 INSEAD 的2007年9月入学了

我现在就在犹豫, 到底要不要申请2007年9月份的,

因为这个Intake没有Internship提供, 中间是圣诞节....而各个投行基本上只招Intern的MBA学生.

INSEAD的官方说法就不支持9月的学员去投行的样子......

各位前辈, 尤其是校友, 如何看??

Both intakes are indentical academically, but the January intake strat includes an eight-week summer break, giving you the option of taking a short internship. Recruitment opportunities for the two entries are comparable, with one notable exception - major Investment Banks currently recruit primarily for their summer associate programme as an entry point for full-time positions. This is more conducive to the January entry although September participants can apply.

It's not that they don't encourage IB-inclined students to apply Sep intake but just to inform you there's a period where you can do intern during the Jan intake. However, the comptetion of getting an intern at an IB is already very heated thus admission in Jan doesn't guarantee anything of intern @ IB. It's just a possibility. On the other hand, I would think the competition in Jan for consulting jobs could be lighter than that of Sep.

NO, personally I DO think that INSEAD doesn't encourage those who are targeting at IBs to apply for Sep intake.

Look at the TONEs in the above script.

I saw something similar in the on-line chat of INSEAD admision officers and current students.

Regarding the Consulting placement, I wouldn't have a clue.

It would be good if some insider can put out some comments here.

基本同意。

即便是1月份的intake，争取投行实习的竞争也是非常激烈，对于中国人是很困难的。

另外，如果是9月的intake，可以在毕业以后的7、8月份实习，和1月的没有太大区别。

2006年相信区别也不会大.

9月的intake本来就是没有实习的，因为5个period是连在一起的，中间没有假期。所以无论是哪一年，都不会有假期给你实习。

1月的intake在p3和p4中间（7-8月）有暑假，所以可以用来实习。

而投行基本上没有实习是进不去的，所以如果你一定要去投行，就只能在毕业以后实习了，就是这样，并没有什么奇怪的，你就当是试用期好了。

如果有实习，被录取的概率要比拿到实习的概率大很多。
