I helped my friends last year in application and this year I also applied. I have made several successes in application.

In my application, I never think a low AWA will give you any advantage.

For example, if your AWA is 3.5, you have perfect essays. Then a natural question for the adcom will be: are th essays really written by yourself?

don't be nervous! I know one guy whose awa is just 3.0 was offered by one of magic 7 and another guy whose awa is 3.5 was offered by one of top 10. Anyway, if you can get good twe or write excellent essays, I don't think it is a big problem for your awa! Good luck!

My friend, I got 760 + AWA 4 with GMAT. I applied R1 this year. Got offer from H and W and interviewed with S (but ding). So, I don't think it would be a problem, cause, apprantly, it meets all these 3 schools' requirements. B-school application is really a combination of all aspects. If I were you, I'd rather spend more time on essays etc. i/o re-take GMAT.
