Really strange, submitted on Oct. 25 and received it on Oct. 30.

These guys are really fast....

Any guy in CD has also received it?

Do you think it is kind of fishy?

First, it has only been 5 days since we submitted the application packages. I highly doubted that the Yale Adcom has enough time to review all the applicants' package.

Second, everybody I know who applied to Yale got the interview invitation (we all in States).

So, I guess Yale just invited all applicants in US to go through interview process withou pre-screen.

Yeah, this is a little bit strange and pathetic. I think they are still worried about their yield so they really want to be early bird this year. Anyway, do you guys know how serious this interview could be? and Will there be another "second" interview following?

It's Yale's practice. Last year it's the same. Admission officers screen your application materials and decide if to extend you an interview invitation. NOT ALL applicants will be interviewed. You can ask some last year's applicants and will see they were rejected without interview.

If you don't get an interview offer immediately, don't be discouraged. Some interview invitations will not be sent out until December.

Thanks all your guys for your reply.

Two points I want to clarify:

first, I am not in US now. Yes, I got my graduate degree from US but currently I am working in Shanghai.

Second, not 100% applicants receive interview from Yale. You can check this point on Businessweek.

Anyway, I think this is not a bad sign for our application. Good luck to all your guys!
