今天这题也错了。
我想正常语序是：
have sth done
having test-driven cars with their odometers disconnected
having cars (with their odometers disconnected) test-driven
                
所以中文意思就是：把切断历程表的车进行测试

为什么这题不选C呢？我觉得C更合适一些。我想此题需要弄清楚Pay for 是为了“Car” 还是“测试汽车没连接测速表这样一种行为”？个人觉得C语法上没有大的问题，有点小问题也就是having been test-driven 不如test-driven 更简洁？

D中，with their odometers disconnected是一个独立结构做状语修饰having cars；AB中的with结构修饰不明确；且that be+adj这个结构不好，所以E错。

1. test-drive  (vt.)  试车 

所以不是that be+adj结构, 而是sth. that be done 结构 这里不是该选项的问题

2. manufacturer ...... pay for cars ???? ------错

The cars are obviously manufactured by itself.  因此, 产商显然是在为它做过的事情买单, 而非汽车. 所以排除pay for cars 的选项.

3. 这道题为了迎合逻辑意思的正确性使用了这样的结构 pay for doing + have done = pay for having done = having test-driven cars.... D的结构也没有问题

我怎么觉得是having test-driven cars (with their odometers disconnected) , with结构是修饰car的，意思是“同意为由于制造里程计没有联接的试驾车这一行为的危害付$1，600，000”

看了各楼的讨论，似有所悟，总结如下，大家给看看。

In December of 1987 an automobile manufacturer pleaded no contest to criminal charges of odometer tampering and agreed to pay more than $16 million in civil damages for
        having test-driven cars with their odometers disconnected.
翻译：1987年12月，某汽车厂商放弃对其篡改汽车里程表犯罪起诉的辩护（不承认有罪也不承认无罪），并同意为由其切断测试车辆里程表而引起的民事损害赔偿超过一千六百万美元。

做题思路如下：pay for...根据题意应该是为了不当行为赔偿，而不是赔车。（从赔偿的金额，可以推出。）所以，排除ABC.

D: having test-driven cars with their odometers disconnected 可以理解为have sth. done,正常语序为having disconnected test-driven cars with their odometers.

E: having cars that were test-driven with disconnected odometers 逻辑上的问题和ABC类似，就成了“为'有'断开连接的里程表的测试车辆而赔偿”。
