同意楼上，谓语应该由work决定的。跟宾语没关系。有主语，谓语是单数，而宾语是复数的情况。

我想这道题是不是可以这样解释。

gemj NN说的“根据动词后面的名词的单复数来定.”是正确的。具体来说，what 和 which 不同。which指代之前出现的一个词，所以单复数根据那个词来定。what不指代任何东西，并且what=the thing that/the things that，单复数取决于它后面的名词，这里也就是aperiodic tiles。不知道有没有说清楚
