becasue Double can also be used as verb, for instance, the amount is doubled.

in the form of "double+ n."--double is Verb.

in the form of "double+adj."--double is adverb which modifies adj.

我觉得ETS似乎更喜欢double做v和adj，OG里没有看过double有用adv的用法

而且OG11--128那题言下之意就是twice做adv要优于double做adv的
