In the aspect of food, the reading believes that the sentinel gives up the food to stand out for protecting the other members when they are eating. The professor holds that the sentinel has a full stomach before it stands out. In the aspect of escapement, the reading believes that the sentinel is the closest one to the predator so the sentinel is the first one in the danger. The professor thinks that the sentinel stands near the burrow ,so it can run a short distance into the burrow after giving the alarm , and the other members can make more attention than the sentinel do when they are escaping in a group . The reading also thinks the selflessness of human is altruism , while the professor figures that the human always can get the reward such as the appreciation ,so it is not altruism. Above all , All the examples mentioned in the reading are refuted by the professor. |
