网上预申后一个月了没消息，问了还没消息，再次预申，还是没消息，怎么办？

GT很可能是最主要的原因，这个预申请的信息很有限。我去年初筛学校的时候填了，差不多两个月才收到许可的回复。我觉得这种东西根本不会有professor有时间给你看，他们会有一个量化的底线便于小米筛选，如果这个阶段就能全面考虑ability，还要预申请干嘛。明确划开international和native的可量化的门槛，应该是在看英语水平。

当然也很有可能是随机抽样，只是为了减少committee的工作量，反正大部分学生从native里挑。

yes. It seems only PSU uses this kind of preapplication. Its program is really competitive. But it depends on the match between your research interests and backgrouds with those of their faculty. It is really really hard for international student to survive there. One of my Chinese friends got admitted 3 or 4 years ago but droped after getting his masters degree. And one of my programmate who is in the second year got admitted by PSU but finally chose my school.He did not like their atmosphere.BTW, he is an American. So, do not be upset. There are many other good schools! Go ahead!!!

hi maurice, what do you mean "atmosphere"? Can you provide some detail? I thought that PSU be a good one in my field, so I  consider it one of targets. I like to hear some information about atmosphere, which is really a big concern if not that good or too competitive within the program.

Thanks. Can you tell me which department your friend is looking at? I met a couple of professors there and they seem to be super nice. You know, the soft environment is the most important thing if you consider a phd program. I don't care how good this school is, but do care how smoothly i work with people there. I don't want to apply for a school with those faculty who don't care their own students.
