1，PREP 2.96 本句使用了冒号(的一个用法，它可以用来连接两个不同的句子，后面一个句子作为前一个句子的解释说明，不会构成run-on sentence的问题。所以冒号后面应该跟的是完整的句子？那相当于不能做Include用。
2，在你举的例子里，hot sauces stimulate the release of endorphins in the brain, just as exercise does, and these have a pain-relieving effect like morphine's. 因为just as exercise does,是插入语，不看。而前面最近的名词是Brain。那么一个单数的名词怎么用THESE来指代呢？
两点没有明白关于两个核心问题，盼指教～
1，冒号的用法，是否可以等同于Include（后面接词组），也可以等同于分号（后面接完整的句子）
2，these的用法，能否单独使用做指代？如何判断指代的是前文的哪个名词？
