A不对吗，not for the sake of...but(for the sake of)...不可以省略but后面的for the sake of吗，这样不是更简洁吗？

What I can understand is that the two parts of expression not...but... should be strictly in parallel.

就因为对称要重复一遍吗?GMAT不是也有一条法则,在不影响理解句意的情况,能省略的要省略吗?请牛牛解答一下吧?为什么for the sake of 不能省啊?谢谢.
