[原创]番茄申请日记：考雅思怎么样？

是啊！可是我的推荐人已经帮我填好了Michigan的了，还有其他10所学校，现在再去找他填一个，有点不好意思开口啊！！

嘿嘿。。我也是这么想的！！打算去联系那里的人，说不定他们就给我waive了呢！

不过这个要求真得很无聊，其他所有学校都不要，前十的也不要，就是Michigan要，不过没有办法，谁要我想申请他们呢！！呵呵。。。

Ross要求一个Statement of Purpose,是交给Rackham School of Graduate Studies of University of Michigan, 另外，还要求一个Academic Statement of Purpose，这个是直接交给Doctoral Studies Program。两个essay问的问题基本一样都是why Ph.D., why Michigan, and what is your research interest. 如果我这两篇写的基本一样，不会有问题吧？应该两篇读的人不同，对不？

是吗？反正我是想考雅思算了，基本上我看过的学校都承认它，而且考试规则简单很多，我不喜欢托福罗罗嗦嗦的小规定很多，麻烦！

蕃茄你还是去问一下学校吧。我问了研究生院的人，他给了我回复：

I met with the Director of Graduate Admissions and he verified that the TOEFL is required in accordance with current policy.  He also recommended that you submit a current TOEFL in order to strengthen your request for financial aid.  

An additional suggestion he had was that you should contact the department directly and speak to someone there about your request to not take the TOEFL.  While admissions does not grant waivers, in some instances the department may be willing to do so.  In addition to speaking with someone in the department, you should submit a written request with your credentials explaining why the department should consider waiving the TOEFL for you.  Having said this, please keep in mind the tip that a current TOEFL can strengthen your request for financial aid.
