答案是C 但是我觉得应该选A

A的指代怎么不清楚了? it 就是指代population啊

C 主句的主语是population 怎么用and 连接后 主语就变成了  the coutry了?

答案必须是C. "country" is required for "surpass China as the world's most populous nation". In A, "it" refers to the "population", not the "country". It's perfectly ok to link two sentences with ", and".

这个题我觉得要看后面的surpass和谁对称，C选项中和have 对称， 这样the country 才能surpass china ，如果是其它选项，比如A 中 如果it refers to population, than populatian  surpass chian。只有国家能超过国家，人口是不能超过国家的

意思不对。POPULATION是不会HAVE billion people的。只有COUNTRY 能有BILLION people
