I don't think Kellogg application has a place for optional essay, unless it has been changed this year. If you don't have additional information to provide, t's fine to leave it blank.

请问interview是只要按时提交request（12/22前）与application就会安排，还是学校也会进行筛选，并不保证能安排的？是否与wharton一样，没有interviewe就表示game over了？谢谢！

Hi, here is Kellogg 2008's friend. If you can not get interview, you have no chance to get in Kellogg. If you are not arranged with alumni interview, you still have opportunity to make a phone interview directly with school. That is my experience in last year.

The summer intern recruiting is still going on now. The three Chinese students who are looking for IB jobs all got offers from top tier banks. If you have more specific question, I can try to get more information for you.
