Several studies have found that the coronary patients (宾语从句中的主语) who exercise most avtively (定语从句修饰the coronary patients) are at least fifty percent less likely than those (比较的是从句的主语,用those来代替) who are sedentary (由于主语有定语修饰,在补足是应该把修饰成分也补出来) to die of a heart attack.

整句话翻译一下为:根据几个研究发现,经常锻炼的冠心病患者死于心脏病突发的可能性要比久坐的冠心病患者死于心脏病突发的可能性至少低50%.
at least 修饰的是fifty percent less likely than, likely (adj) 表示一种可能性.

关于为什么要用to,我想,把句子简化一下就能看出来结构了.只写found的宾语从句
the coronary patients are likely to die of a heart attack.(die of +疾病的名字表示死于某种疾病;be likely to do sth,to在这里不是介词,是动词不定式)
中间的都是浮云啊浮云....

大家都认为选E，但我认为答案应该是B，因为原文如下：

首先证明了half the chance, or less的说法是正确而且实用的，在google上也有大量的使用例子
其次，of dying of a heart attack 在这里也是可以用的，当然我认为to die of a heart attack也可以用
最后，E最大的问题就是改变了to die of a heart attack的位置，会让人产生后者是被比较对象的限定词而不是比较的对象，OG11中有这类的解释。
所以，应该选B！

插入语应该是句子的一个可有可无的成分吧，既然如此去掉了本应对句子的原意没有影响，但是B中若是去掉了or less，则than的比较就错了。我也就是翻译了一下quote的话，自己觉得这个算是一下点通我的了，和大家分享~
