以下是引用hibob在2003-10-13 13:42:00的发言: But I have little knowledge about others. How about UBC, Simon Fraser, HEC Montreal, Calgary and Alberta?
Basically those are local program, except UBC. So, it really depends on the location and industry you want after MBA.
I know that UBC is school with good reputation in Asia, especially in Southeast Asia, but I don't know how it's ranked in North America.
UBC is maybe on the top of your list. You could possibly compare it with U.S school around 50. It has few strong area, like finance, media, enterntainment. You're right, it has good connection with Asia and West Coast U.S (close to Seattle, which has Microsoft, Boeing and numerous digital animation company)
My friend told me that Simon Fraser is a good business school in Canada and has a beautiful campus. However, I even can't find it in BW's 300 b-school list. So I doubt if it's really good in biz. Can you contribute your comments?
Sorry, I have no idea about this school.
HEC Montreal is ranked non-US second tie schools by BW. However, it's average GMAT score is only 587, thus making me very doubt the qulity of its students and alumni. Do you have any idea about this school?
Again, it's a regional school. If you want to work in Quebec area, it has great reputation there, but second to McGill.
Calgory and Alberta are both in the province of Alberta. I was told that Alberta is the only province where a new immigrant can find a job now. Since Calgory is the city of OIL, the economy there is better than other cities. Could you please tell me how the two schools ranked in Cananda?
Your friend is right at some point. However, those are not very decent jobs in some people's view. U of Alberta is a good choice if you want to concentrate on engineering management. U of Calgary of course has good connection with Oil companies. However their graduates will smile big if they find a $50,000 pay job after MBA. Remember, that's Canadian dollars.
