provides a good example that inventory is a count noun. totally agree with madben:1. I think inventory is a coutable noun. I don't know why other people think it is a mass noun. Inventory 作为库存的意思讲,本身是可数名词. 用as much as 是指库存里的东西因为不确定,所以不可数. 举个例子: A tablespoon (of water) is as much as three teaspoons. 2. and then parallels with the main clause, what omitted is "the inventory is". 3. business is also a countable noun, both businesses and business are okay here. 4. carry is a verb here. What is being compared is "inventory", the complete sentence is "An inventory equal to 90 days sales is as much as (the inventory) even the strongest businesses carry"
