B wrong because "increasing supply and lowering prices"  pops up suddently. While A indicates improved efficiency causes "increasing supply and lowering prices". Moreover, by doing is a prefered structure of ETS.

我认为这种解释不成立。状语从句的引导词和主语在什么地方？

Although improved efficiency in converting harvested trees into wood products may reduce harvest rates, demand will be stimulated because of increasing supply and lowering prices, which boost consumption.

本来也选了A的，但把B带入原句后觉得更好。

在从句Although improved efficiency in converting harvested trees into wood products may reduce harvest rates中，improved efficiency in converting harvested trees into wood products 为主语，may reduce 为谓语，harvest rates为宾语。

之所以B比A好，是出于以下两点：

1) 用demand代替it做主句主语比较好，（虽然作为一个中国人我觉得没有指代不清的问题啦，但是ets好像不太喜欢用代词，所以如果有名词还是用名词的好）

2）boost consumption只是因为lowering prices，与increasing supply无关，所以用which比用doing好，前者修饰紧接在前面的词，而后者修饰前面整个句子。

  哎，的确觉得A，B似乎都有道理，只是B似乎更被ETS所接受！
