Yes, you can take out a loan. And yes, competition is fierce everywhere, especially at good schools. Don't think too much about what you have no control over. Just do the best you can and there'd be no regrets. Requirements for LFM are all listed on the website. He's probably busy preparing for a new semester now. Try changing your question title to "questions for MIT alums" and you might get more replies. Good luck!

我同学告诉我有的学校9月就开始面试了，这么早么？我的计划是将4-6个学校材料准备好后在10月中旬左右一起递上去，高人认为如何？早了还是晚了？还是应该一个一个来。抑或是分成二轮来？thanks.

分两轮比较好。因为据说round 1在某些学校有点优势，但MIT据说第一第二轮没差。另一方面，你要是有一部分学校写好了干吗不提交呢？
