考虑再三,还是C好

A的persuming后中心词是such life forms,having left只是修饰such life forms,显然:假定"生命形式",是没有任何意义的.

而C的presuming后是一个句子,这个才是假定的内容,表示:这样的生命形式留下了fossile traces.

从意思上判断,应该是C.

这个有点象evidence of sth. doing....和evidence that sth. does....的区别.

having done 做后置定语必错，但可以做伴随状语。

此题显然是做such life forms 的后置定语。

因为伴随状语通常有“,”隔开为标志如

同意楼上的, 握个手, 看到好几个帖子都在讨论A和C

我同意presume是presuppose的意思, 但是他的逻辑主语明显是人啊,怎么可以是those traces 呢?在LDOCE上也没看到单独presuming的词条,即使有,也是presumingly

 但是除了这点以外,B也不是很好

In my view, it's a idiomatic use, which means " If we are presuming ..."

Something similar to the usual expression of "given ...,...", which means "(If we are) given ..., ..."
