AI002我的第一篇ISSUE 请大家帮忙指点 谢谢了

2. “It is unrealistic to expect individual nations to make, independently, the sacrifices necessary to conserve energy. International leadership and worldwide cooperation are essential if we expect to protect the world’s energy resources for future generations.”

Discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the opinion stated above. Support your views with reasons and/or examples from your own experience, observations, or reading.

正文

The quotation asserts that, contrary to independent conservation of energy by individual nations, global collaboration and leadership make the preservation more realistic and more feasible. I hold the view that, instead of isolated sacrifices, cooperation within the world is an efficient way from which people may benefit a great deal, thus preferable and sensible.

The main reason why an international effort is necessary is that the performance achieved by a sole country is, to a large degree, limited by its ability, including the economic status and political stability. People will have to admit such a common sense that only a minority of industrialized countries are capable of treating, independently, the problems concerning the conservation, which will definitely cost a lot and be based upon a strong interior and exterior background. The left cannot do so solely, leaving it to be fairly worse. For example, some nations in Africa, Asia and South America, with a majority of citizens struggling to maintain subsistence, weak economic base and less advanced technology, do need the assistance and cooperation offered by other countries to accomplish the anticipated goals.

Another reason why worldwide coordination is indispensable is that through cooperation the problems about conserving natural resources can be resolved thoroughly and efficiently. It is inevitable that, thinking of the short-term purposes, some country may act as temporary performers, leading to a further deterioration undoubtedly. The international pressure can, at this time, play a significant role in imposing intensive urgencies on and exerting stress on those nations. In addition, the techniques utilized by one country can, in a way, be applied to others. For example, all the countries in the world may share the experiences and advantages gained particularly in conserving the energy. The cooperative work, therefore, will result in high efficiency.

Admittedly, some may argue that acting separately is, to some extend, conformable with the conditions of a nation and free from interference, resulting in the same effect as worldwide coordination. The argument, nonetheless, ignores a warranted assumption that every nation will virtually has the ability to achieve the goals that is comparable to those gained through global collaboration. Without this assumption, we cannot say that acting independently is more feasible. On balance, the advantages provided by worldwide joint effort far outweigh those by insulated actions.

In conclusion, as the assertion cited above, to ensure a favorable, radical and effective preservation, states that made up of different nations with differential present conditions, should work together for future generations.

说实话,比我写的好多了, 我都是东抄抄,西拼拼,总算挤出来的!!!

The
speaker asserts that international leadership and worldwide cooperation are
essential in order to protect the world's energy resources for future
generations. To some extent, I agree with the speaker's general assertion in
certain occasions. However, the speaker unnecessarily extends this broad
assertion to an irreversible extreme while overlooks other compelling factors
that may affect this issue. On balance, my points of agreement and contention
with the speaker involve the fundamental and deep analysis as discussed below.

On
the one hand, I would have to admit that this statement, although suffers from
some obvious drawbacks, has some merits primarily because the implicit rational
behind it accords with common sense and our everyday experience. Hence, it is
partially indisputable. In the first place, individual nations, like people,
will act according to their short-term motives and self-interest. Without a worldwide
activity for the energy conservation, no individual nation would like to
sacrifice its own interests to conserve energy while other country would not do
so. Therefore, it is unrealistic that individual nation would stop consuming
the nature resources in order to protect the world’s energy resources.

In
the second place, international leadership and worldwide cooperation do play a
significant role in protecting the world's energy resources. For example, OPEC,
the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, is an international organization
of eleven countries that heavily depend on oil revenues as their main source of
income. They adjust their oil output to help ensure a balance between supply
and demand. The stabilized out-put has decreased the problems of over-refining
and over-utilization of oil energy for a long time. All these compelling
evidence greatly supports the speaker's assertion.

On
the other hand, recognizing that a more applicable choice must incorporate
different aspects of the issue as sufficient as possible, I would have to point
out my contention with the speaker, who fails to take into account other
possible factors. In short, this assertion is problematic in two aspects. First,
it is likely that individual countries independently conserve energy for their
own benefit in the future. For example, Japan is a country naturally with
nearly no energy resource. Therefore, it makes great effort to conserve energy
for generations. Second, each individual nation has the responsibility for
protecting the world’s energy resources. If some individual countries only
agree to the worldwide cooperation orally and take no action to conserve
energy, it is quite difficult to depend only on international leadership and
worldwide cooperation to conserve energy. Therefore, I tend to concede that
when the issue comes to some certain circumstances, it is partially appropriate.

In conclusion, this issue is a complex one,
requiring subjective judgment. Therefore, there are no easy or certain answers.
Because of the above-mentioned reasons, which correlate with each other to
generate an integral whole and thus become more convincing than any single one
of them, I may be comfortable to say that both international leadership and
worldwide cooperation and individual nations are essential in order to protect
the world's energy resources for future generations.
