Chinese students compete with themselves for limited job opportunities in investment banks and consulting firms either in New York or in Hong Kong, espcially in schools with a large number of students from mainland China.

Yale extended offers to around 8 or 10 mainland China applicants last year. Some of them chose other schools. So don't worry about the small number of 4

Topics may vary in different years. The general questions woudl be similar to those of other schools: Why MBA? Why Yale SOM? Go through your resume, etc.

All right. Do you know the admission strategy of Yale? They prefer round 1 application or either round,1&2, has equal opportunity? How about allocation of scholarships?

I would recommend round 1, especially for this year. No idea about scholarship allocation.

do you know at hand that how many ppl attend the Explore Diversity weekend in the previous/curernt year? I just received this e-mail from admission (the decision date was delayed--they were supposed to send out decisions yesterday):

"...in years past, we received an extremely competitive pool of applicants.  Regrettably, we are unable to extend you an invitation to attend.  Although this probably is not the response you were anticipating, I encourage you to keep Yale School of Management in your plans as you pursue your MBA plans."

They requested a resume plus short description of why I want to attend Explore Diversity for application for this event. I am mad and very hesitated right now, if SOM looks at my resume and decides they cannot invite me for the on-campus event, obviously there are other XXX people they want to invite. Come on, what are the odds that I submit my application and get accepted during admission?

Maybe it is obvious that I should not even consider applying for Yale.

Not a big deal.  It's a big favor (full reimbursement and TWO night lodging) that won't extend to many applicants by definition.
