我的理解：
9）这里用同位语应该比分词要好。用分词的机构一般要求要有比较强烈的主谓动宾关系，而这里Africa，a land应该是同位的关系

25）我觉得这里应该不是effect和effects的区别，而在后面。可以用形容词修饰如果再用从句就显得redundant了

我明白9了，to the African land symbolizing...就表示去symbolize....的那块african land,而不是指非洲，变成非洲的一块特定的地方了。
