几道语法题请教？

刚做完95年以前的老题，有几个有点疑惑，麻烦哪位朋友给看一下，先谢过了！
P152.13    robably no man had more effect on the daily lives of most people in the United States ---- Henry Ford a pioneer in automobile production.
(A)    as was
(B)    than was
(C)    than did
(D)    as did
答案选C。我选B，句意才完整啊。选C的话，是否少了一个实义动词？

P168.34    Because its body (is supported) by water, the blue whale can grow to a size (considerable) larger (than any) land mammal (alive) today.
答案选B, 改成了副词。但新东方的王海波讲过以 －able结尾的形容词可以后置修饰名词的。并且，这里的比较没有用other把自身排除在外吧？

P177.19    The grouper is an (ocean) fish that lives in (warm) and temperate seas, (most) around rocky shores and (coral) reefs.
答案选C，改成了副词，这可以理解。但ocean为什么不用形容词呢？这是个更容易看出的错误啊？

我认为答案应该是C
这句话完整的意思应该是no man had more effect ...than Henry Ford had....这里的had不是助动词而是实意动词所以应该用did来代替。而不应该用was。用was的情况是：
no man was...more...than Henry Ford was...

我认为considerable应该改成副词的形式来修饰larger.这里不用other排除自身的原因是因为whale根本就不是陆生得mammal，他不属于这个范畴所以就不用排除其自身，使whale和所有的陆生mammal得比较。

ocean为什么不用形容词呢？应该用名词修饰名词的形式来表示，ocean fish。我觉着有关n的一些东西真的是很难掌握。所以我再做题的时候最后考虑名词的问题。这道题最明显的就是C了。这个句子的结构是句子，状语。而这个状语是个介词短语。修饰介词短语的应该用副词mostly而不应该是most.我记着从网上当下来的语法笔记，不知道是谁的上面有提过most 和mostly的区别，你看看。

按照这个思路来理解，是该选C.我又琢磨了好半天，才发现问题出在印刷错误上：  Henry Ford 后少了一个逗号! 我就是因为觉得had和后面的a pioneer ... 语义不清才选上了was。

兔兔，有个疑问：
P152.13的结构是A do something more effect ...than do B...
P168.34 Because its body (is supported) by water, the blue whale can grow to a size (considerable) larger (than any) land mammal (alive) today.简化为：A can grow to a cnsiderablly larger than B ，这里为何than后面不用can B?
关于比较级中助动词的补出，一直有这个疑问，不知什么情况下要补出助动词，什么情况下不用？

我的理解是这样的：
首先比较级than后面的可以倒装也可以省略。当然了最好是不全了主动词是最好的选择。
34题之所以采用了省略的形式就是因为即使省略了也不会是这个比较产生歧义。完整的应该是the blue whale can grow larger than can any land mammal.这里省掉了can是因为这个句子只能是whale 和land mammal之间的比较。
但是13题如果省略掉了就会产生歧义了。
A do something more effect ...than do B...
有了do则明确了B是和A得比较。如果省略了do则就不清楚是B和A之间的比较，还是B和something之间的比较了。所以应该加上do。
