这里排除C,D,除了OG解释的外, 可能还和suggest的用法有关.

通常suggest只用两种用法: suggest that...(sb suggest that虚拟; sth suggest that不虚拟); 另外一种用法就是:suggest doing.

个人理解, 请大家指教.

OG说这里有两个问题，一是不惯用，二是意思表达有出入

看longman里的解释：

suggest doing something：to tell someone your ideas about what they should do, where they should go etcￚsee also propose

Joan suggested asking her father for his opinion.

suggest somebody/something for something：to tell someone about someone or something that is suitable for a particular job or activityￚsynonym recommend

John Roberts has been suggested for the post of manager.

所以，for decreasing这里的2个错误就很明显了

1.只有suggest sth. for sth.的用法，而suggest sth. for doing sth.是nonidiomatic的

2.这里的平行是

while some ...propose（虽然...提议改变态度）......, others suggest reducing（...建议降价）.......still others are calling（还有...起诉）

若换成for，则建议->推荐，在意思上有一些细微的差别
