For those people who are interested in ranking/data: If you will only be comfortable after having got 100% of all the relevant info, I'm afraid you should reconsider your decision for MBA. MBA is all about business. Business is all about making decision without full information. The problem of relying on information is that 1)too much time/cost on information with lower marginal return 2) there is basically no perfect information. Remember that everyone, including yourself, is unique. The average income doesn't mean a lot for you if you are a top performer. Only people think they are at "average" level care much about "average" figures. Besides, what is valuable for you might not be valuable for him/her. Different schools focus on different things, in different ways, and ultimately, have a different mix of students. No one cares which one is the best among Harvard, Wharton, Standford, Columbia, or others. People care more about whether the school's focus and culture fit with their own expectations and styles.... Ranking is after all a marketing thing for business schools. Independent people can also make profit by doing rankings. But as individual potential MBAs, you have to think more about yourself than about rankings...I know it's pyschologically difficult and tricky, but that's real business and real life--living with ambiguity and uncertainty. Wish you all good luck and make your "own" decisions! |
