Guys - let me put some of my perspective here. HR is fine as long as you love it. The issues is that the career future of HR is kind of limited. The highest position an HR can get is HR director or VP, which is less important than finance head, marketing head, sales head, or even tech head. All of the later heads have good chance to become CEO but HR head do not.
The other way is to go to headcount, but this industry does NOT require too much knowledge but requires your NETWORK. So there are many new people entering this industry without HR background...,
