As some of you may have known, Academy of Management (AOM) offers the career match service for doctoral students in this field each year, and their annual meeting is a great place to meet with recruiters and have interviews. Usually one can get a campus interview offer if he or she performs well in the AOM interview. They also provide some job market statistics so that we can have a brief idea of the job market trend. The following table is an example: here the column “applicants” stands for the number of applicants who registered their placement service; “positions”, the number of positions that are available during the summer session. They also have fall and spring statistics; see the website for further details: http://apps.aomonline.org/placement/HistoricalDataNEW.asp
BTW, they lump all the positions together here—tenure track, non-tenure track, research fellow, lecturer… so it may be a bit biased if you only seek for tenure-tracked positions.
