Account for any gaps in your work experience since your undergraduate degree (if applicable).

If you don't have any gap, you won't need to worry about it. If you do have, such as marital leave etc, just explain it well. I think the best is to tell the truth.

If you do something interesting during the gap, you can mention it.

我的单位和另一单位在一段时间内是合在一起的，我曾经在两个单位同时担任职务合做事，两个单位的性质不同，一个是企业一个是政府管理机构，我需要在additional essay 里说明这种情况吗？因为政府管理机构的工作经历对我的职业生涯有利，我希望在简历里面写出来。

Sure. Why not to take the advantage of optional essays, if you do have stories to tell?

No, you do not need write this essay if you do not have gap in your work experience.
I do not understand your second question.

我是想问PART-TIME工作是否算在WORKING EXPERIENCE 里？还是GAP里？谢谢！

Most B-school do not count part-time job as working experience.
