A中的RESULTS是什么形式？太太了吧。且A中的“；”的主语是什么？FOR NATIONS是一个介词短语，主语呢？至少应该补一个THEY吧（尽管有歧义，但是比没有主语强）

D至少也是完整的句子，“；”后nations in the same way [that individuals can] find，尽管也不怎么样。哈哈。

可是D根本不是一个Apple&Orange比较。D的前半句the invention of anesthesia was as essential to the development of surgery 传递的是the invention of anesthesia 是比较的共同体，是在比较它对不同东东的作用的信息，而后半句变成了as the invention of the propeller was to powered fight，根本就混乱了比较结构，还原后变成这样两个比较句子：
1- the invention of anesthesia was essential to the development of surgery

2- the invention of anesthesia was essential to what the invention of the propeller was to powered fight

而句子本身传递的意思是：麻醉术的发明对手术的发展是至关重要的就如同推进器对加码的战斗一样。

所以A是很好的形式 。

B, ' just as' ----------- out, perfer' like'

1.  'like' is better.
2. for add explanatory information.  subject  :   nations
2. between semecolon are two independent clauses. so there are two subjects in the whole sentence:  crises ---   :  nation ----

(from dictionary) semecolon is used in this circumstance :  
between main clauses that are joined by   and, or, for, but, nor, so, and Yet if there is a comma within any one of the main clauses.

4. results???

9, how about "results"?  how to explain this word?

4, A must be better than other choices

11, "the invention of anesthesia was as essential to the development of surgery as to something" is reasonable. Because in this sentence, the subject is not changed. But when you want to make a comparison between two different objects or things,such as between A and B, you should use "A is ... to A1 (just )as B is to B1", this structure is parallel. Certainly, if A=B, or A and B are same, then you can use "A is ... to A1 as it is ... to A2" .

9. I don't know what is about " insults", it is so wrong.
   but you do agree that choice A is better right?

11.  IN A , will it make any difference , if you put a commos " , " before ' as' ?

I agreed with Joice on 11.
To braveMBA: When we compare two different things, we don't have to use "just as". A simple example:
I am as clever as he is.

in A , ' result '  ( from ) is Verb
in D.  'results '  is noun, the first part of D is right,  but the part after "; ", i have no idea---

a是正如-----，-----也essential
好像差不多呀
