看了所有讨论，还没有结果。。。现在不喜欢一个一个去看相关的连接，所以为避免其他xdjm也要看n楼，所以另起一贴！：）

请问上面强调的部分，doing做状语起什么作用。

曾经看到携隐nn，对于doing分词在句尾的总结：

1 表伴随，这是其逻辑主语等于句子主语，标这个动作与谓语动作同时发生。

明显不符合。因为 the technique 不可能是动作liken地发出者（我认为some others是liken地发出者），degrades和liken这两个动作也不可能同时发出。

2 表伴随结果，意思是前面整句话所描述的事情导致了这个结果。

the technique degrades major works of art怎么会导致 likening it to putting lipstick on a Greek statue.这个结果呢？！

如果doing做非限定性定语，修饰对象在那里？这种情况也不可能。。。

那么这个分词结构在句子中到底有什么作用？

逻辑主语是many others,将该技术比喻成blabla.
