i was on the waitlist by wharton and admitted last night. i didn't write any letters to the school nor ask alumnis to write any supporting letters. i just followed the waitlist instruction and not to bother them at all (but of course, i sent a happy chinese new year card to the school).
there are few reasons why you are on the waitlist: 1. you cannot make the diversity of this round; 2. you didn't show the school enough why you need MBA at this stage of your career;and 3.you are recommended by someone important and waitlist is a polite way to say no to you.
in any case, you are as good as any admits but just a little short of luck. so cheer upl,good luck and the good things will come.
