I don't think those standards can exclude we guys out! Moreover, DIVERSITY  is another important factor for a healthy community! If all the admits fall in the similar background like u listed, I don't think it's a perfect place for me.

just learned that a friend got all interviews from the three schools he applied to. including the hbs one. his essays were reviewed and critiqued by me. i would say, his essays were really crap. he only spent less than one week in his essay. but i am certainly sure he has a strongest background among chinese applicants. just felt a bit unbalanced that for someone things are so easy...i was satisfied with my hbs essay but earn no interview...sign

As you said, Harvard has a sort of priciple for its admission in China...Plus, it prefers female to male of China.
