总结了前人关于as well as的用法。我将它们结合自己的总结一起弄了一下。
关于and和as well as的比较
首先，先看as well as逻辑上的分析。
（1）一般用于结构A and B,as well as C.其中，C与A,B不在一个层次上并列。C属于附属。而这个结构翻译成中文可以很好地理解成：A和B，以及C.
例如：allows voters to propose and pass laws, as well as to repeal them。其中propose和pass是一个层面，repeal是附属了。
所以，当做题的时候，原文中如果有A and B就不能随意改成A as well as B.
如OG46题中
In ancient Thailand, much of the local artisans’creative energy was expended for the creation of Buddha images and when they constructed and decorated the temples that enshrined them.
(B) much of the local artisans’creative energy was expendedon the creation of Buddha images and on construction and decoration of the temples in which they were enshrined
(C) much of the local artisans’creative energy was expended on the creation of Buddha images as well as constructing and decoration of the temples in which they were enshrined

这里的C选项就要排除掉了，因为原文中是and，与as well as的并列程度不一样。所以，不能随意替换。
（2）as well as 用于肯定结构和否定结构中，其意义不同。as well as 和not搭配使用，as well as 位于not前时，两者均否定；位于not后时，否定前者，肯定后者。例如：
George, as well as his brother, has gone abroad.
乔治和他兄弟一样都出国了。
George hasn”t gone abroad as well as his brother.
乔治并没有和他兄弟一样出国去。（他兄弟一人出国）
George, as well as his brother, hasn”t gone abroad.
乔治和他兄弟都没有出国。
（3）as well as 在意义上通常强调前者，而not only …but also在意义上则强调后者。例如：
He”s got a car as well as a motorbike.
他不但有一辆摩托车，而且有一辆小汽车。
（= He”s got not only a motorbike but also a car. ）

关于as well as的语法结构问题分析
(1)As well as也有自己的基本使用句型。
A did one thing, as well as doing another thing.（prep1-90）
例：The organization gives help and support to people in need,as well as raising money for local charities.
(2)如果as well as 前面是动词不定式，那么其后的动词也是不定式，但to要省略。例如：
You cannot expect her to do the housework as well as look after the children.
(3) 由as well as 连接的复合主语并不影响谓语动词的数。例如：
Helen as well as I is eager to see the performance.
海伦和我一样急于要看演出
I as well as they am ready to help you. 不仅他们愿意帮助你，我也愿意帮助

来自加拿大政府的网站的英语学习区，应该比较权威，基本如前面所说，as well as只能用于连接两者，并且语义重点在前者；若要用于三者或以上，要在前面加and，并将前面用and连接的东西视为一个整体和语义的重点，如：The service was prompt and courteous as well as efficient. [The emphasis is on “prompt and courteous”.]。
