i was F1. i did a voluntary intern on the congress hill.  it's a sort of academic intern program. no need to get working visa.

although somehow we are competing with each other.

Surprised to see quite some people applying for risk management! I applied to this program as a backup to my applications to 12 finance phd programs. Now knowing I have been rejected by 5 finance phd programs, I'm putting up some hope in this risk management program.

Really? Damn, I've not heard anything from the committee, so I guess they don't want to interview me. It's probably time to move on and find a job now. Fortunately it's pretty easy to find an actuarial job in New York area. I will try to get a master in finance or economics after I work for a couple years, then try PhD again. Good luck to you all.

It is spring break next week! Maybe going on a road trip is not a good idea........I am going anyways
