也正如OG的解释，more likely表示比较是要加than的，不是more likely..than..就是more than likely.另外，likely可以用作表语，定语，以及较少用到的状语，如OG这道题。

同意11楼，more likely是要加than的，而且不止这里，所有的出现比较级的情况都需要加than和比较主体，比如OG11th-88题就说明了这点。

我想问的是前人也问过但没有得到解决的问题，

把正确答案带入原句中为

not...but...不是要平行么??这里根本都不是平行结构吧？？

另外，句子后面的“,and”后面不是应该跟一个完整的有主谓结构的句子么？

即使不跟一个完整的句子，也要是“X1, X2, and X3”结构，其中X1,X2,X3要完全平行，要么都是名词性短语，要么都是动词结构

难道本句里面是这样平行的“the writing was not..., but began...., and merged...”？？？这样也不对啊，began之前是有but的啊！
