答案是C，可是我看不出来and前后是什么关系，是并列吗？

我不是牛牛，但是说说我的看法。

a four-and-a-half-inch animal  found in the Philippines and resembling　a hummingbird。

整个的这个部分，是句子主语Lina's sunbird的同位语，起到对ｓｕｎｂｉｒｄ的解释说明作用，而划线的部分，是作为 animal  的后置定语（前面有了定语），ａｎｄ前面连接的是分词并列成分。而且，本题考查的是逻辑上的并列，形式上并不完全并列。补出后，可以看出他们之间的关系：

a four-and-a-half-inch animal  ｔｈａｔ　ｉｓ　found in the Philippines and 　ｔｈａｔ　ｒｅｓｅｍｂｌｅｓ　a hummingbird。

红色的就是逻辑上可以补出的成分。

给出的是that resembles，

那你是认为答案应该是found in the Philippines and resembles吗？还是有什么其它解释呢？

B. found in the Philippines and that, resembling 有that又有分词，还有逗号，显然不对
C. found in the Philippines and resembling 分词和分词并列
D. that is found in the Philippines and it resembles 定从和句子，明显错
E. that is found in the Philippines and that, resembling 同B

可见，只有C的平行结构是最完美的。在gmat里，应该是允许过去分词和现在分词并列做定语的，OG中应该有例子，不过一时想不起来。有兴趣可以自己找找。

不过觉得好像也有道理。我再查查看。

C是两个分词作定语修饰前面的名词，是并列的。（见携隐语法并列类型）

¶        作定语时，现在分词可以和过去分词并列

¶        名词短语可以和what从句并列(只有what,其他不行)[OG73]

¶        副词短语可以和介词短语并列,作状语

¶        than从句可以和介词短语并列

¶        定语从句可以和介词短语并列,作定语

¶        注意系动词对称: sth is noun that…

¶        注意ing作名词和ing分词短语不能并列! (a decreasing…and improving…是错的)

¶        be动词和实义动词不能并列!
