请问（1）C选项为什么THE要省略，是因为printers吗，如果前面后面都有THE可不可以呢，即将C改为is a process leaving the editors, rather than the printers, to assemble？？？

我觉得这里省略the的原因是：由于这句话是定义这个term "pagination",一个很广泛的定义，没有上下文，就不需要特指，因此不需要the
