decline和down重复，对吧？

所以选D？D和E怎么确定呢？

OG上说，declension这个词已经不再使用了。

declining与down意思重复。

用介词after引导分词短语而不是分词following引导分词短语，所以应用after。

我想出来另一个原因：如果用following的话，应该考虑逻辑主语得问题，这里显然搭配不合理，所以E不行。

OG11对declining 的解释是participle, 对after 说是preposition,

为什么介词后面可以加分词? 应该是动名词啊!

假如是动名词, 那么gradually 就不对了,因为用adj. 修饰n, 而不是副词

对tmd 的解释真的是不懂. 不知道是我不是太弱?

怎么感到老外也考" 回" 字的几种写法了!!!

after是介词，后面必须跟名词，代词或动名词，这里的declining就是动名词，og解释里说是participle，我也不太理解。

动名词可以由形容词，副词. 副词短语或状语从句修饰，所以gradually还是对的
