some advice for application: every school has its own criteria. you should find out school where you believe you have the right fit. I did a mistake by Wharton. At the beginning I thought with my background I will have no difficulty in getting admission from every school. However, I guess Wharton knows at the beginning that I would never go there if I get admission from hbs or yale, since my backgrounds fit better to those schools (correct), and they know 99% of their applicants also apply to hbs or stanford.
you know top schools would consider their yield rate. If below 70%, their rating would decline, definitly not in interest of the schools. I failed to convince wharton that it is my first choice.
in my second essay to yale, i clarified why I decided to switch from public to private sector. I think this essay give you enough room to show your personality.
