It is too early to talk about the graduates' job in this year.  I can only say that it's on a right track.  Hopefully, everyone will land a job in a big company.  But probably, no one can find a job in investment banks and top consulting firms, partially due to their lack of interests and effots in looking for these jobs.  Most of them are interested in industry finance in a big name, which provides a balanced life and good package.

Last year, all Chinese graduates except one got job offer(s) in US.  Finally, they went to Bank of America (US 2nd largest bank), Wachovia (US 3rd or 4th largest bank), one of the US largest lease companies, and some other companies, respectively.  I cannot remember all the company names.  The one left US went to HK and work for Lehman Brothers HK.

I did my interview in Duke on Nov.10th. I also went to UNC to meet one guy in Public Health School. Everything was fine except I lost in UNC campus. At that time, I hoped that I had your phone number

I'm not sure of the chance for 3rd round.  Take your time and try to avoid the last round (I don't know it's 3rd or 4th round).  But I do not mean that you do not have chance in the last round.

I know many students got offer last year, but some of them decided to defer or go to other schools.  As to the reasons, please see my previous messages in this thread, or go to this thread to read in detail.

As to the finance field, career opportunities are basically same in the two schools.  Some people claim that UNC has a better opportunity actually.  I don't have numbers to justify it.  But UNC is very strong in finance, I promise you.  Many recruiters perfer UNC students to work in finance.

The personal efforts play the most important role in career development.  You can find such information from this thread or the other thread I posted above.  I talked a lot about the career opportunities for UNC students and Chinese students here, in finance, consulting and other fields.

2/5 UNC 2nd year MBA students got full-time job offer now.  They are going to work at leading industry companies.

If you know the job market today, you should know that this is a good result.  Generally speaking, only 1/3 students can get job offer before Christmas.  So UNC Chinese students beat the average!

If you know the job market in US today, you will not be surprised to this.  This has been a great result.  And not everyone is really interested in IB or MC.  Industry finance is actually very good, not worse than IB and MC.

To my information, no Chinese from top MBA programs has got offer from IB or MC in US offices.  Maybe there will be some in the coming months.  But you cannot count on it.
