觉得这篇文章很难写,实在对它认识不多,花了一个多小时才挤出来。肯定有不少错误,望大家狠狠拍。
听很多前辈说在作文上不要花太多精力,但我怎么觉得没那么简单,可能是因为基础差吧。

In some countries, people are no longer allowed to smoke in many public places and office buildings. Do you think this is a good rule or a bad rule? Use specific reasons and details to support your positions.
This problem is always a much debated one in that it, to some extent, affects everybody in their daily lives. Any speech about it would surely strike the top lines of most newspapers. To agree or disagree with it is a matter of balancing between its pro and cons.
But if one has considered the following perspectives, he/she could only agree with the title statement as I do.
First, there are a vast number of illnesses caused by smoking. The major disease caused by smoking is lung cancer which kills more people each year than any other illness. Moreover, smoking is also a potential cause of many diseases such as heart disease, birth defects and a host of other disorders.
Another important reason why I agree with the above statement is that people will be affected by the constant smoke in their environment. Hundreds of studies have concluded not only this, but that exposure to secondhand smoke can result in death.(这句好像不太对) 53800 people die every year from secondhand smoke. Children are at significant risk to many acute and chronic diseases as a result of secondhand smoke exposure.
As the body of scientific evidence becomes larger and more precise, it is now possible to prove that smoke free policy in public places not only work to protect nonsmokers from the death and diseases caused by secondhand smoke, but also have an immediate affect on the public’s health.
On the other hand, although disadvantages of smoking are so obvious, the tobacco companies love to claim that they have a positive effect on business and customs. At the same time, some advertisements help cement this idea in the minds of the public. While people neglect a fact that the expense the governments spend on patient care caused by smoking are far higher than the customs coming from tobacco business.
Once you have known all of these, you have no alternative but to agree with the smoke free policy in public places. Enforcing this rule would save thousands of lives, and would also decrease the amount spent on healthy care dramatically. |
