[面试经验] Wharton的面试官

山外有山,楼外有楼。这世界高人实在太多了。想想克林顿和普京是几岁当上总统的,我们40多岁的时候又在干吗呢?和这些人相比,太不值一提了,呵呵。



呵呵, 人与人比, 要气死人的. 历史上大器晚成的例子也不少, 古代有姜子牙, 现代有山德士上校, 只要朝着自己目标前进就好.  


关于面试, 几位已经参加过的兄第说说, interviewer在态度上怎么样, 是比较nice, 会礼貌的把话听完, 还是会比较intimidate, 牢牢控制住整个面试的走向?

Alumnus Thomas Caleel Named Director of Wharton School MBA Admissions and Financial Aid


March 21, 2005 ?Following an extensive search, alumnus Thomas Caleel was appointed director of MBA Admissions and Financial Aid at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Caleel previously worked at Cagan McAfee Capital Partners, a private equity firm in California抯 Silicon Valley, where he performed financial analysis for portfolio companies and raised public and private funds across the energy, recycling, and life sciences sectors.



揂s a successful entrepreneur, venture financier, and chief executive, Thomas Caleel抯 professional experience has been wide ranging and internationally diverse,?said Anjani Jain, vice dean of the Wharton School抯 MBA Division. 揂s an alumnus, he now returns to Wharton with great enthusiasm for the opportunity to help shape the School抯 future.?
Caleel began his career at Heritage Finance & Trust, a private financial group based in Geneva, Switzerland. As director of the Moscow Representative Office during 1995-1998, he established and built the company抯 presence in this rapidly growing market. Caleel also participated in a variety of private equity transactions across several former Soviet Republics.



Between 1998 and 2001, Caleel was a co-founder of BCI Private Capital, a holding company in Denver, CO. Through BCI, he served as managing director of international development for Caleel+Hayden, a start-up manufacturer, marketer, and distributor of premium skincare products. During his time at Caleel+Hayden, sales grew from zero to over $20 million annually, and the firm grew to 180 employees across 20 countries. While at BCI, Caleel participated in the acquisition or founding of several new product lines and new businesses and served as the interim CEO of a Russian-Swiss technology venture that delivers medical information to remote disaster areas as well as mobile phones.
After earning his MBA from Wharton in 2003 with a major in finance, Caleel worked at Cagan McAfee Capital Partners. He also served on the board of directors of several CMCP portfolio companies and was vice president of the Wharton Club of Northern California.
While a student at Wharton, he was a leadership fellow, co-chair of the ethics committee, a graduate assistant in the MBA Admissions Office, and a member of the dean抯 graduate student advisory committee. He demonstrated exemplary leadership and won the 2003 Wharton Way Leadership Award. Caleel earned a BA in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania in 1994.



Caleel is an accomplished horseman and has played polo in professional level tournaments in the U.S. and abroad. He is fluent in Russian, proficient in Italian and French, and is working on his Spanish.

我近视眼,为了漂亮点,还没有戴眼镜就去了。结果都没有看清楚他长什么样子(不过酒店那个前台真的帅呆了,声音很是温柔,笑起来两个酒窝好迷人啊!瑞士学酒店管理回来的,和我聊了一会,不停鼓励我安慰我啊,呵呵。我后来对朋友说:被拒了,也算有点安慰啊。见到一大帅哥!)。感觉Thomas很是年轻。他是Wharton毕业的。的确比较狠,问了一些关于我这个行业的问题,甚至还有我如何选择team member的问题。


我问他如何为Wharton做贡献的。他“跳起来”说:我现在在干吗啊?我飞来飞去的为wharton寻找最好的学生,还不是做贡献。我一听也不爽了,你那是拿工资的啊。我就问不要说工作,说别的。(估计他已经想要踢我出去了)。


不过,总体感觉是很nice的。如果问了一些难题,我的回答他不满意的,也的确是我修为不到位。

态度是很nice的,会礼貌的听我说,但是不一定说完。他会不断插入我的内容,问一些问题。但是基本会让你说完一个内容的。感觉还是舒服的。我比较喜欢这样子的,有一种互动的感觉。而不是跟着list一个一个问。他一开始就说了他的面试很informal的。
